I have a plan too put a duel switch in my dash. I have a 79' standard cab with duel fuel tanks, I also have the standard black dash switch for switching tanks. Awhile ago I installed fog lights on my truck, they came with a switch but I don't like it. I went to a wrecking yard and got the double dash switch from a suburban, the one with the a/c switch and the back window switch with the double bezel. What i need is the measurements for the hole that I need to got in the dash to make the double switch fit like stock. If anyone has these measurements or a truck with this hole that could help me figure the sizing and placement out, it would be much appreciated. Thanks ya'll.

I think I have exactly what you are looking for. I will take a picture of it tomorrow and post it with measurements. I will also put some light duty cardboard, like the last piece of a notepad, and trace the whole. I will move it flat over to the ashtray opening so you can be exact if you want.

That would be perfect. Thanks very much.

Here is pictures from my 1991 Suburban parts truck. Hope they help you.

That made me think of a little oddity that came on my 77 chevy sport. it was a single tank truck, but it had a switch there like the dual tank switch, but it said AUX LIGHTS instead. It worked the lights that came on the rollbar. it was factory.

Thanks for the pics, that looks great. At Kenny: i had the same idea. I figured I would use the double switch idea, use my tank selector on the bottom and use the other switch for my fog lights. I think it will look stock but will be custom. I even have a little light that I'm going to hook up to the light switch, when you turn the lights on, the little light comes on and says "FOG LIGHTS" its a low dull orange, I think it will work and look awesome. Thanks again to Zieg. One more question. Is the top edge of the top hole supposed to be level with the top edge of the ash tray door, when closed of course? Thanks ya'll.

I honestly don't remember, the switches were one of the first things to go over a year ago. May ask the question over in the Suburban section. Sgt Del has his purty one, I bet he would be nice enough to take a picture of the installed switches.

Ok thanks, I will do that.

I like the look of factory you are going for, will keep the cab cleaned up and offer places to put aux. stuff on. Very good Idea.

Thanks. I will post pics when I finish installing it, which should be today or the next two days or so.
