Title: goodyear military hummer tires
Post by: GMCTed on January 22, 2007, 03:27:00 pm
Hello, I want to ask if anyone has used the goodyear bias ply tires that are used on military hummers? i found them on ebay for a great price. is there any big difference in the way they handle as opposed to radial tires? do they have good tread wear? thanks for any help. here`s the link  cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3...dZViewItem

I do not know, but, if the military had input on the specs, I am sure they are not made for comfort.  that means, it probably is not a soft rubber compound like the goodyear wranglers i have on my 79.  I used to have bf goodrich all-terrains.  the all-terrains by goodrich is a very hard compound, therefore, tire wear is good--however, it will slack in performance, hard turns and such. I bet the hummer tires are like that.

I love my goodyear wranglers--i wont get 50k miles out of them like the goodrich, but the handling is smooth and sharp.
