Hello,This is Greg again i was replacing the u joints and the slip yoke is shot someone drove it with a bad u joint. It is a 15 spline yoke and i need to find one. This is on my 78 K30
-
What transfer case do you have ? I looked and all I could find for a 78 k30 are 32 spline yolks, I tried 203, 205, and 208 transfer cases, do you have something different ?
-
I have a np205 case. This is the yoke on the front of the rear drive shaft that slides onto the Carrier bearing shaft.

Check out this website, starting on page j300p-3, they start with the 15 spline yolks. They have cross reference numbers so that you can either call spicer (phone number on last page), or maybe take this number to your local parts house.
Also they say there is multiple applications and show you how to measure your yolk to get the right one. Good luck and keep us informed on what you find.

whats wrong with your old one? how much damage?
-
A bad u joint trashed the yoke.
-
i know its not safe to some but we have run yokes with a ear cracked off before on a mud truck turning 44's to this day no issues
-
I will be hauling 3 to 4 tons of house coal on this truck. It is so bad you can almost install the u joint with your fingers.

i think a junkyard would be a much better deal or at least worth a try

I messed up and posted the wrong link. Here is the the one.http://www.northerndrivetrain.com/product/SPI-3-3-5921KX.html
No junk yard any where had one that i could find.
-
That is kinda pricey, but if you can not find one elsewhere, I guess it is not bad to be able to drive your truck again.
-
he can still drive it with just the front shaft 8)
-
or you could just put a one peice shaft in its place
