Having trouble getting a parking brake equalizer. Parts stores are saying it's a dealer only item, dealer says it's discontinued, I can't find it online. Dealer said part # is 14072629. My last ditch effort is to fabricate one. Does anyone have a good picture of one, or could take measurements?

Are you talking about the bracket that the cable from front connects to before it splits into two cables or something different ?
-
They're available aftermarket for about $5
-
Bake, yea that's what I'm talking about.
BD, that link you PM'ed me didn't work. Just sent me to a junk site.
-
Are you close to a pick-n-pull type place, I would just get one there if your local parts place can not get it.
-
Ordered it from a catalog. 5$
-
Good to hear, and that is not a bad price, though how much did you pay in shipping ? ;D
-
Bought a complete speedo cable with it as well, because whoever had the truck before me draped it over the exhaust..........................
I think it was like 7 bucks for shipping. This particular catalog is shiesty with shipping. I don't like the service I get from them, but they're the only ones who have the part. Blah.

I'm nearly 100% positive I installed it correctly... I don't get how this thing pulls both rear cables simultaneously... Not making sense. Can someone post a pic of theirs?
-
I don't have a pic right now, but both sides are suppose to adjust so the tension is the same. I will try and snap a pic tonight on my 74 and post it.

I found this picture online. I have it set up exactly like this. It doesn't make sense though to me. When I pull on the cable, only the drivers side is being used. I don't see how the passenger side gets used as well.

The park brake works off of a system of counterforces and relative cable motion.
Adjustment procedure follows:
