I'm in dire need of something to put down over the new metal floor pans, but just can't shell out the $ for a repro mat right now. Has anyone found some kind of vinyl or rubber material that would be thick enough to work for this to get me by? I've looked a little bit at Lowe's/Home Depot, etc. but haven't really found anything. I've looked online for vinyl rolls of material that sell by the yard, but they're quite expensive as well. If anybody's got some ideas I'd love to hear them.

Menard's sells 4x6 entrance mats for around $5 each. They are rubber backed and easily cut with a razor or even a set of scissors. I have my company car completely covered with them cut to completely cover the existing carpet. My last 2 I have done this to and the carpet underneath stays clean and in perfect shape.

Menard's was the only of the 3 I hadn't tried yet. Thanks!

The menards mats are very cheap and work nicely I cut a new set for my car every spring when the snow is gone.
They are available in several sizes.

I was just going to suggest that, too. Good idea.
