Title: 82 k10, 6.2, Dual fuel tanks, fuel gauge reads wrong after switching

Just replaced the fuel selector valve and when I switch from the right to the left tank, the fuel gauge reads well beyond the "full" mark. The left tank is empty and have not had the selector valve working since I have owned it, but the valve is definitely working now. Just trying to figure out why the fuel gauge would be reading in error

Way past full is usually because of a bad ground. Most likely between the frame and the sending unit.
