I found a PTO with a shaft for a 465 on craigslist for $20. I can never pass up a deal. But what can I use this thing for? I'm sure there are alot of different things they can be used for. Can any of you guys tell what you know they are used for or what you may even use them for. Thanks

There was a option for a rear mount winch that ran off the SM465 PTO port of the transmission, I have seen them on the 70's military vehicles.
There is a guy around SAC. that uses the PTO on his 465 to run a post hole digger attachment he has on his k10. He has a contract with the local telephone company to dig the holes in the back country and on slopes that their bigger trucks can not get to. That is the 2 things I have personally seen the PTO used for.

PTO ran a hydraulic pump on a tow truck I used to drive.

My '74 K10 had a PTO on the SM465 that drove a front mounted winch.

Does anyone know much about Muchie PTOs? Or does anyone know of a good tech support page? I have been doing some Googling, but my success has been limited.

One of the more common uses would be to add a hydraulic pump for a dump bed. Another thought could be a dump trailer. My grandpa built one for making firewood but just had it set up to pull behind his tractor. He would just connect the lines to the tractor but the same idea could be used behind a pickup.
The same type of set up could also be used to run booms etc.
Tow truck arms as well
The possibilities really are as big as your imagination.
