Title: 3/4 ton to 1/2 ton?
Post by: WUTSAV8 on January 15, 2002, 03:29:00 am
Has anyone done this before?

What problems have you run into regarding the brake lines and the driveshaft?

Also for your lowered 1/2 ton people, do you need to change the pinion angle much to compensate?

Thanks.

woah, WHY???

not tryin to insult, but aren't you only weakening the axles?

maybe this has something to do with lowering kits?

maybe you should just sell the 3/4 ton and get a 1/2 ton, you will probly get money rather than loose it.

maybe i am missing something here

They don't make a 1/2 ton Crew Cab truck.

But I just did. :P  Stay tuned for pictures..

I used to have a '75 C20.  The only problem was it rode like a truck.  It needed tons of weight in the bed to make it nice decent.

1/2 ton trucks are more passenger oriented and ride much smoother.  Also, most of the suspension products are for C10s.

Besides, I don't want a 8 lug 22 inch wheel ;)

yucky? Why exactly do you need to state a comment like that about someone elses taste in trucks. I too wanted to make a crew cab shortbed c10, droped with 20's. I think they look awsome.

I have an 87 swb that has been lowered with a DJM 5/5 and sits on 20x8s on the front and 20x9.5s on the rear.  I can tell you that my truck gets more attention with 20s on it than it ever did with smaller wheels.   Bigger is better.
