Title: Rear tailpan install
Post by: gharris79 on January 05, 2012, 08:51:10 am
Hey guy's i'm going to have to replace my rear tailpan(tailgate support) on my 84 K5 and i'm looking for some opinions. I've done 2 before on previous Blazers i had, 1 the body was off the frame and the other i removed the body bolts and raised the rear of the body. This time i'm considering installing it in 2 pieces or putting a cut in the center to bend it into place then weld it back together after its in place. Does anybody have any other easier ways to do this? What do you think about the way i'm thinking about going at this?

Thanks

My Blazer is in pretty rough shape, but I unbolted the bed floor from the rear fenders and wheel wells.  I was able to splay the fenders apart enough to slide in one end of the tailpan, then the other.
