Title: Torque Converter Swap
Post by: LTZ C20 on January 08, 2012, 03:39:03 pm
I have an 83' Chevy Blazer K10 Diesel. I'm planning on doing an engine swap pretty soon to a gas 350. I was wondering is the torque converter for a diesel is different than a torque converter for a gas 350. My 79' Cheyenne has a Turbo350 tranny and the blazer also has a Turbo350 tranny. So are the they same torque converters are do i need to get a new one for the Blazer when I swap engines?

Yes, you will want to swap for one for the gas engine based on engine size & approximate weight. Lorne

Thanks. I'm guessing it also has to do with the torque output differences between a higher rpm gas engine and a lower rpm diesel with lower end torque right?
