Title: Jaspper Engines
Post by: 78 Chevyrado on January 16, 2012, 11:32:40 am
My Dads truck is needing a new engine and We're looking at jasper engines, and having one of their preferred installers do the job for us.  He has a 98 F-150 and the way the cabs built the engine comes out the bottom and we dont have a lift.  That and I'm just not able to do a job like that right now.

Anybod used japser?  what do you think?  how did the installers do?

After a rod came out the side of his block, one of my friends bought a Jasper V10 to replace the trashed V10 in his '01 Dodge 3500. It was basically a stock rebuilt engine.  I haven't heard him complain any about it.

In his case (Dodge V10), a Jasper engine was pretty much all he could find that was within his price range.

Sorry I can't add more, but that's about all that I really know about them.

One of my old bosses, who owns a pilot car company uses jaspper engines  when he needs to replace engines in the pilot cars. I can say honestly the trucks go 400K miles w/o to many problems (mostly oil pumps)  and ran great! Mind you most of his trucks are 4.6L and 305's.

Where my brother Keith works they sell them an install them.  he hasn't had anyone come back.  they have one of the best warranty out there.  Jasper will build you anything from stock all the way up to a nascar engine.

I don't think you can go wrong if all you are looking for is a stock replacement.

I have a jasper 4.3 in my s10. I had it installed about 3 years ago by one of their installers. They did a great job and had it done in a timely manor.  It runs great and I have never had any problems out of it. It is a nice strong little motor. I would defiantly buy another jasper engine in the future.

I just installed a 5.7 in a 1993 GMC. No problems. And you cant beat the install kit for 120.00.

i've never used Jasper, but i've been thinking about this exact question alot.  i recently found out that my local shop---that i bring my other cars to when i can't fix them uses Jasper.

If you've seen the show Motorweek, you probably know the owner/operator of the shop:

This shop does things right and the fact that they use Jasper is good enough endorsement for me.
