I have been looking around for a rear step bumper. Is there any other companies that sell a bumper that is a direct fit? I found a couple places on line but the sites are a little shady, I dont feel comfortable ordering one from those. Maybe some of you could post what you have.
Thanks

Check right here with Captnkaos right here. Click on the store buttom right next to the home button. His store has some good looking factory style bumpers. He can probably hook you up on a good deal on a step bumper. If not, check Good ole JC Whitney.

Not listed, but I can get you this FEY bumper that comes with brackets to fit the truck, they are $375 with the bracket plus whatever shipping would be.
-
Is it chrome or powder coated
-
That one I posted is Chrome, Silver and Black are available also.

I have that FEY bumper on my truck. I like it a lot, and it looks really easy to install. Its pretty dang sturdy.

Is that mounted correctly? Looks like its really close to the body at the ends. And also a little narrow. I would like one that fits a little better than that. That one looks like it came off something other than a 73-87 Chevy.
-
Its mounted correctly as far as I know. And, by narrow do you mean from the back of the truck? It sticks out for the tail gate about 5 or 6 inches I think. I can take another picture of it tomorrow during the day, and take a picture of the mounts.
-
I meant narrow like its not as wide as the truck. And it looks really close to the body under the tail lights. It's going on the truck in my aviator so I'm being picky. I don't want to just throw something on there.

I think what FEY did was make a couple bumpers and had specific install/bracket kits. So one bumper would be used for a few trucks with the help of the specific install kit.

The GM part numbers for the original equipment GM step bumper (less brackets) are:
14043838 (painted)
14043836 (chrome)
Brackets part numbers are:
14014794/3 (inner brace)
14014798/7 (inner brace reinforcement)
14014800/799 (outer brace)
These show up on Ebay occasionally. I searched some NOS dealers and the part number for the painted bumper shows up... You'd need the bumper and brackets to make it work.
Maybe this will help some.
BTW
This is what I have on my '74 K10. It's an original Ruff-Neck style. They're probably a wrecking yard only item now.

This is what I have on my '73 K2500. It's a CUCV rear bumper. It's very sturdy, but no place to mount the license plate. The OE GM bumper is pretty much the same, except there'd be no pintle hitch, clevis attachments or cat's eye lights.

Man, I had forgotten about the old bumpers with the dealership name stamped into them! :)
-
Here is another listing for factory style rear bumpers that I dug up... Notice the RPO code and the part number for the dealer. This style is almost identical (slight differences) to the OE bumper that I listed the part numbers for in a previous post.

Jason now your just teasing with my emotions! LOL. I'd love to find one of those dealer stamped bumpers.
Thanks for the part numbers, I'm calling my local dealership tomorrow and put those numbers in the national locator.

Sarto, I completely understand the situation you're in. I'd really like to find an original camper special type bumper (or at least that's what I call them) for my '73 K2500... I've even seen a truck on this site with one of those rear bumpers...
Good luck with your search.

Guess I shouldn't scrap these anymore...
-
Hmm... Negative on the bumper scraping action. There's a guy on E-bay with a used OEM bumper listing it "buy it now" for $300.

guess I need to dig some out...
