Just another quick question........
Whilst hanging upside down off the front seat looking for the wire to the dizzy, I noticed wires plug into the throttle. Would this be for cruise control? Can't think of another reason they're there.
cheers
Andy

Where?
-
It looked like its at the back of the throttle pedal bracket. I was upside down, and it wasn't the brake ;)
Didn't find dizzy wire either!
-
Sounds like the TH400 kickdown switch to me.
-
That could be a good shout Zeig. Never owned an auto b4 and not really thought about how the kickdown works!

I must just be a redneck, I have to ask, what is a "dizzy" ?
-
It must be me that's the redneck! Dizzy is distributor.
I'm sure I poked the wire through the firewall when I unplugged it all but I can't find it!
Thats unless it doesn't go through there to start with and the power is picked up from the loom in the engine bay!!!
It's an age thing ha ha

The kickdown switch at the accelerator pedal should have 2 wires- one to supply b+ voltage and one goes to the drivers side of the trans to the kickdown solenoid in the trans.

Cheers DnStClr - that makes perfect sense. Cheers fella

On my truck the distributor wire is redish pink and comes out of a loom behind the driver side head.
