Here is my 74 c20 that i got for $400 from a good friend from church. truck is mechanicaly sound! has lots of new parts mechanicaly including trans, but the body has been neglected big time! Its pretty far gone, but frame is solid and it came with about every patch panel to fix cab, new set of inner and outer front fenders, brand new factor passanger door, and lot of other new part. I drove this truck about 100 miles from my house and it was almost getting 20mpg! but i dont know if the body is rilly worth saving. but as i said befor, it runs almost perfectly!

where it is! shes a little rusty! ;D

Yikes!! I grew up MN and never seen the inside of a door rust like that! 73-74's seem like they do rust more I heard somewhere many years ago that 73-74 were not galvanized . not sure if thats true or not but I noticed even in the Desert down in NM the 73-74's always have some rust in them somewhere

The good thing about metal is, it is workable and can be repaired/replaced. The question becomes is it worth it to you to save the cab or maybe just swap out body's if the rest is mechanically sound like you said.

Im thinking about just swaping drivelines into another truck. I just found one that would be the perfect canidate that is kind of close to where i live that is the same year body and origional color for $600 on craigslist. now if i can scrape that much together. ;D but i know i can get $300 if i scrap the rust bucket after i pull motor and trans, one of my budys needs a trans for his 80 c10, and another budy needs a motor for his 67 c10. So i might be able to work something out. ::)

He is asking $500.00, see if he will take $300.00, scrap the other truck and buy this one, sell the engine and trans and put the money into the new truck. Win win.

Well i talked to the guy on craigslist. he will go down to 450 if he keeps the after market headers and intake. He was pretty firm on that price. But the interior on his is like new almost, and no rust on cab or front clip except the left front fender has a small hole. it would be the perfect canidate to swap drive lines into. didnt relize he droped it down to $500. If i can scrape $500 together and get it i will, but i now owe irs like $2300 due to my former employer not takeing taxs out, and me not knowing till last week befor i went to school didnt save any of that back, sooo...idk :-\

The guy I got my truck from has a lot of older Chevy trucks. Some of them were in pretty good shape. I can get you his number if you want. He's just south of Des Moines.
