You can use the 2wd version of the SM465. There were minor differences in the transmission over the years.

Basically, you're going to have to swap the 4wd SM465 main (output) shaft into the 2wd SM465 transmission and use the SM465 to NP208 adapter. The output shaft you use will need to match the input of the NP208 (i.e., 32 spline).

I would check with local salvage yards and just get the 4wd version. I'm sure it would be not be expensive especially if you can get to a u pull it type of yard. What about getting your current trans fixed?

Alright what about a divorced t-case? The transmission I had I sold to a buddy who rebuilt it for his 2wd Chevy is there any other manual I could swap easily

The SM465 is about the easiest swap you'll find for the 73-87 (91) GM trucks.  There were other manual transmission options for a 4 wheel drive including a 3 speed column shift manual transmission, but your best bet is the SM465.

All the later 60's to present GM trucks had a "married" transfer case.  Ford trucks had divorced transfer cases, but they're on the wrong side.  Dodge trucks could be had with a divorced T-case, but you're probably going to find the 4x4 SM465 before you find the Dodge T-case.
