Title: Camo anyone?
Post by: apchas on February 05, 2012, 09:00:25 am
I got the truck back in the summer and she had issues. Sagging headliner, cracked dash and lower door panels were messed up. I am working on the truck with a tight budget so any repair could not hurt. How's it look.

I really like it, To bad it wasn't a non-blue interior to start.  What kind of material did you use?

It looks like you took great detail and care when you did the headliner, dash, seat in Camo.  I think to round out the interior it would be best if you did at least the bottom portion of the door panels in Camo, that would tie the interior all in.
I do like how it turned out though, very clean looking.  Great job.

I think that's awesome.  Really nice job.  It does look a little odd next to the blue, though.  My vote would be to cover the door panels as well or paint them a matching color or camo.

Not finished with the doors yet. i ran out of material for the upper door pad. The material is from Wal-Mart. Camo carpet in the automotive section. They have black or Camo. I will be putting black carpet in soon and replacing the bench with a buckets. The headliner was the easy, when you take it out. Dash was a not fun. I still have a few spots to fix but its a good start.

You Sir are brave:  I don't know too many people who would have admitted that they got the material from Wall Mart.  It made me smile when I read it.
Granted I have no problem with Wall Mart except I don't feel like standing in line for an hour to check out.  The 2 that are near me have like 20 + registers and usually only 5 - 6 open at one time.

So far I have 25.00 bucks in it. I have one more roll to get the finish the project. I don't like Wal-Mart that much but its not bad. Why pay someone a ton of money you can do your self. If I screw up, go to the junk yard and get another one.

I'm looking at redoing my dash. What adhesive did you use to mate the material to the dash?

I definately like the CAMO... At least you didn't go with the camo duct tape....it's a lot cheaper than fabrick.

If it was in bad shape i might. I want to put buckets in it.  I dont want to over do it with the camo.

think that that type of material would be heavy enouph to do the seat?

With that fabric having a textured finish it would not be good. It will be hard to slid in on. I would not use it for a seat cover.

You could dress head to toe in cammo and everybody would think the truck is driving itself.

The only thing you have to worry about now is updating the camo every year when the new pattern comes out!! Haha!!

Nice job apchas!
I picked up an 87 burban to use as a ranch \ hunting truck and the interior is gutted right now.  You've given me some good ideas on putting it back together.
