I want to keep my stock rally wheels. I have an 83 GMC C10 2wd SWB and it has 15x8 stock rally wheels on it withe 3" trim rings and chevy center caps. I want to change them somehow. I was thinking about removing the rally ring, painting or powdercoating the wheel, and changing the center cap to either a chrome dish type or small aftermarket bullet type.
Does anyone have pics of this that they have done?
My plan is suede black paint and maybe lime green striping. I thought about lime green wheels. not sure though. I also thought about black wheels with chrome lugnuts and chrome bullet center caps.

Ok not quite sure what you mean by lime green striping, but I am sure I have never seen that color stripe on wheels before, so it would be different. As far as lime green wheels, I have seen. ( I live in Ca. for heavens sake ). Here's a thought, use glow in the dark green, you will be seen then.
I like the idea of black wheels highlighted with chrome, I think it will make them stand out and pop. (as long as it matches the truck color) But hey, it's just my likes, it is your truck and you have to like the outcome.

On my 15x8 rally's I have skinny chrome trim rings off of a 92 C1500 rally rim. It is the perfect fit and shows more rim. I will try to post pics soon, the wheels are in storage under the house.

Hey Zieg, is there anywhere you don't have parts stored ? I keep hearing you have stuff everywhere. ( I am jealous of course, I don't have that many to store all around).

Actually I have more places not mentioned yet but it is really more of a problem than not. I have a raised ranch on a poured crawl space, my 40" midget basement that stays nice and warm in the winter and nice and cool in the summer... That is where I store my wheels when not in use. I scoot around on a craftsman creeper. My office holds my manual steering column, radios and several extra gauges along with my eBay sales stuff. 2 sheds, and attached enclosed carport with overhead storage, way to much stuff if I ever have to move...

I had the rallys on my 87 painted like this. The black painted part meant no more brake dust showing up. :D
Painted the part of the wheel with the slots and the base of the center cap black.
