so I finally locate a lwb step side bed and the guy goes and sells one of the fenders. are there replacements out there?fiber glass or steel? I feel like I'm gonna be stuck casting my own from boat fiber glass.
-
Yes, They are available.
-
but, are they available for LESS than 300? haha.
-
Yes
-
any sources? are any of them better than others? ie, made in india Vs made somewhere in the states...
-
Either source a used one (www.car-part.com) or look at pretty much any restoration catalog. I use Keystone for sheet metal but not sure what's in your neck of the woods. Ask Captkaos here if he has a source. BTW do you call it a stepwise instead of a stepside?
-
hahah no, i dont… you can thank auto text correct on my "smart" phone for that one.
all the pressed steel ones i find have outrageous shipping charges, with a few companies ( ) that get theirs from overseas (india or china im guessing) with insane shipping that flat out tells you to expect damages!
literally none of the pullaparts around here even have step sides. i guess once i find a decent price i'll have to bite the bullet and buy new…im just really avoiding buying overseas garbage in my wise old age.

If you really can not find a factory one, let me know. I will go to pick and pull and pull one off for you and ship it to you, you just have to pay the cost of fender and shipping, I won't even charge you anything extra, how about that.
-
Find an LKQ recycler and they will sell you a replacement one or locate you a good used one. You can negotiate the price down a little bit too. http://www.lkqcorp.com/locations/location-results.aspx

I sell LKQ, Goodmark (now LKQ) and Key parts. Apparently they aren't listed under stepside beds but I can get them. Probably is shipping is about $200
-
Chris, the shipping is $200 for the fender?! Why so much?
-
Has to go Truck freight, although you an fit a lot on there, so it is best to make a big order.
-
Probably has to be on a pallet, truck freight has min. weight charges on a pallet. So a fender will not be the min. weight, might as well add parts and get basically free shipping on them at the same time.
