Title: Timbrins
Post by: Blazin on February 26, 2012, 06:37:03 am
Made some brackets for a pair of Timbrins I had off a parts truck.

Bumpers and their old cheesy brackets.

Had to make new slugs for the bumpers. the old ones were permanently rusted onto the bolts.

I have new rear springs to go in in the near future. I am going to make new top plates that incorperate the stops for these. Just welded a piece of 1.5"x3" channel onto the side of the stock top plates for now. You can see it on the far side in the last pic.
When the new springs go in I am also putting coil over shocks in too.

I am not familiar with the term "Timbrins", is that another word for bump stops ?

These aren't actually Timbren brand.
They are like a bump stop, but take the place of over load springs. Just getting set up in case I ever need to put the spreader in the back of it.

Ok it's a brand, that is why I haven't heard the term.

Timbren products are installed all over our area Bake74. Most of the newer plow trucks run them in the front.
