trying to remove the trans and transfer case to replace my flywheel. i have completed:
removal of 6 bolts from bell housing and motor
front and rear drive shaft removal
crossmember bolts removed
clutch linkage removed
both sticks removed
i have an atv jack strapped to the cross member for support/ removal
i have a floor jack with a 2X4 placing small support on oil pan.
i cannot get the bell housing to budge at all from the motor. have i forgotten to remove something? is it alignment?
any advise anyone?
p.s. would love to get step by step for removal from one of you senior members. the one on motor removal is great.

speedo cable? Other than that, Im not sure. Maybe it is at such an angle with the transfer case pulling down on the back that it isnt letting the housing come free. Personally, I would have taken the t case off first, then transmission.

There is 1 or 2 piliot studs to align up the transmission. You have to pick up the rear of the trans to make sure it is level before you slide it back. The weight of the trans and transfer case is more than likely making it not straight, even if it looks like it is straight.
