Hey all....I bought my 87 k20 2 years ago. It had a collector vehicle inspection sticker on it when I bought it, but now that has expired. According to what I read on the Internet, you can no longer register a vehicle as a collector if it has been altered in any way. My truck has a 6 inch lift on it. Same thing goes for a historic registration. Anyone have any idea how to get around this without me having to put my old emissions equipment back on the truck, and go through regular inspection? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

I don't think anyone here is openly going to tell you something that is illegal. As far as that goes, have you checked with your local department of motor vehicles to see what the actual law states ?
After learning about the law, I would personally check into a local speed/custom shop for some advice. Most of the time if there is a way that is legal (and sometimes not legal), these guys are more than willing to share their knowledge with others.

Yeah I would definitely like to stay within the law....I was more along the lines wondering if there was anyone out there who has run into this problem in NJ before and what their experience was.
thanks

Try posting under regional area for the section the covers NJ and maybe someone from around there will respond.
