Will one from a 5.0 chevy work on a 350? Trying to save $ but I can buy another if need be.

What year is the 350 you want to put it on.  The earlier flexplates were neutrally balanced, but IIRC the ones from the mid 80's on up were externally balanced.

Well the 5.0 is an 82 and I the rebuilt 350 won't be here till later this week. I will ask. However I did tell him needed an 80's 350

You should be fine if both engines are the two piece rear main seal. (pre '86)

The only small block that I know of that was externally balanced was all years 400SB.
