Can you provide more specifics, such as what kind of '78 do you have (e.g., 1/2 ton 2wd, 1/2 4wd, 3/4 ton, 1 ton dually), what kind of '89 Chevy 4x4?

This might help:

78 half ton k10 4x4. custom deluxe i think, and i dont know much about the other truck, other than its of that body style, and it is extended cab and while the lug pattern is the same, the hub is different.

I am not following what exactly you are asking.

Yes, there are companies that make 16 inch steel wheels that will fit your truck.
My '74 K10 came from the factory with 16" steel wheels. At the time I bought the truck, there where 15" rally wheels on it. I swapped on new aftermarket 16" X 6 lug steel wheels to go back close to stock (my wheels use the 3/4 ton hubcap).
So if you want to use the tires, you'll have to find some a set of 16" wheels (either new or used) that fit your 6 lug bolt pattern.

kaos i was hoping to find some steel wheels that were 16 inch that would fit my truck, because they would be cheaper than purchasing fancy wheels. but i guess the only option is aftermarket.
