Title: Vent Window Trim
Post by: bladerunner on March 19, 2012, 08:26:34 am
I am currently replacing the chrome trim around my windshield and rear window since they are pretty rusty.  The trim around my vent windows are pretty rough too. I am pretty much certain at this point that I can't find trim for the vent windows after market.  I took a quick trip to my local junkyard and the trim they had was even worse.

Can anyone confirm that there are no after market options?

Your best short term bet is to e-mail chris at the store on this site with this question, then wait to see if anyone else has delt with the same issue.
I remember someone just finished his truck and had the chrome pieces on his truck, what I do not know is if he used his old ones or got new ones.  Might try looking through the last 2 pages of members rides, that is where I saw the thread, not to long ago.

What do you mean by Vent Window Trim?  The gasket for it?

The exposed metal, which is part of the assembly is what I am assuming it is.

If your metal on the vent window is bad you need a complete new vent assembly.

If it just looks bad, they're pretty easily cleaned up and painted.  I largely used a dremel tool sanding drum and rust-oleum gloss black rattle can.  Still looks like brand new a couple years later.
