Title: Lowered C10 tire clearance issue
Post by: stepside454 on February 15, 2004, 09:25:00 pm
Ive got a 75 C-10 short step that was already lowered when I bought, not sure how much drop it has, but I like the look & the ride.
I just realized how little room I have in the front from the top of the tire to the inner wheel well.
 Theres only 1.75" - 2.0" of clearance.
So far the only rubbing Ive noticed is for example if I make a turn while goinh up or maybe down a hill, like a steep approach.. no big deal there.
My concern is if it rubs while @ speed, like a brige appraoch or a big dip a 70 mph & it rubs. will it just rub, or will it be a safety issue. If anyone has a simialer situation let me know if I need to be concerned about it. John

I have the same problem...but its not very often like you said.  it may scuff up the underneath of your wheel wells a little but no damage. As far as safety goes, unless you are doin like 120mph and hit a big bump....you should be alright.
