I have a 82 lwb and need a steering column. What years interchange? Mine has a lot of issues so I will need a diff one. Thanks!
-
they all pretty much can be swapped out the only thing you have to look for is where your headlight switch is at, manual or auto and so on
-
Of cool is there one that is perfered?
-
What years after 82 will work? Like can I go get one from the 90s?
-
Up to 1983 will work for exact replacement. Up to 1991 in the Suburban, Full size Blazer or Crew will also bolt directly in but will have the dimmer switch and wiper switch on the turn signal stalk but you don't have to use them. The 88 or new CK series have differences and for one have the automatic shifting linkage on the opposite side.

Thanks! Just what I needed to know. I called around and I may just be able to find one under $100.
-
Ok so since I can find more 90-91 trucks in the yards. If I was to get a column from these trucks will It be a plug and play or willl I need to splice wires?
-
If it a 90-91 Suburban, Crew Cab or Blazer, yes it should be a plug and play. If you can snip the wires as long as you can... and if the column has intermittent wiper switch and yours don't grab the module as well, it is well worth the hassle of the upgrade for the wiper switch and dimmer switch.
-
Cool deal. I will make sure to look for the module

The steering column in my '87 V1500 GMC needs to be replaced. . Ive been reading some of the threads before mine and if Im reading it correctly any tilt auto column from an 88-91 Blazer/Jimmy, Suburban or Crew Cab one ton will work or am I reading that wrong.
