Im going to be buying a clutch for my truck soon. I think im going to get a "stage 2" clutch. Instead of the standard full circle disk, its a 6 puck star shape. What would you guys recommend? The oreilly part number for the standard clutch is k1909-02 and for the stage 2 it is k1909-02cb I would list urls but I cant open up the oreilly page right now.

Every time I have replaced a clutch I have gone with the stage 2 clutche. Some say it is not worth the money. In my opinion, it is, I have abused some of these clutches and they hold up where the "regular stock" clutch would not have lasted long. So I am sold on the stage 2 clutches.

Alright, good enough for me. With my dicount I can get it for like 120 bucks so the expense isn't a big deal for me. Another 40 to have the flywheel resurfaced, slap it back together and be happy for another few years.

You might be surprised on how long it does last you.

Alright. Got paid thursday morning bought my clutch and new fly wheel thursday afternoon. Going to install it either tomorrow or monday as those are my days off. Happy Easter guys!

Think an aluminum flywheel would see any benefit in these trucks?

Alrighty. Got my drivline dropped and trans crossmember off last night. Got 3 of the 4 bolt from the trans to the bellhousing out and couldnt get a socket on the 4rth one. Then today I got some tools from my dad and got the trans dropped, bellhousing off, clutch and flywheel out and new one in, and now Im putting the 4th bolt into the trans right now. Then going to get the crossmember and drivelime back in and im done!

Well, I got it all back together monday night. Started the truck in nuetral, pushed the clutch in and tried to put it in gear, wouldnt go. The clutch wouldn't disengage. So I adjusted the rod on the bellcrank all the way in and all the way out and it still wouldn't disengage. Someone recommended putting a longer adjusting rod on it. So I went and bought some allthread and cut it to about 8 inches and tried that full range of adjusment. Still no go. So my dad hopped in it, put it in gear and stared it with the clutch in. He had the parking break on and held the throttle to keep it from dieing and popped the clutch a couple times and it finally worked properly. Were thinking that the grease they gave us for the inpu shaft splines wasn't enough and the disk was sticking. But its working great now. The clutch feels awesome. But its a little hard to get used to.

Very glad to hear it worked out. I'll know now to be sure and adequately grease the shaft and splines.
