Title: Do I need new shocks?
Post by: Jok3r on March 29, 2004, 01:18:00 pm
Hello everybody...

Here's a newbie question....I just got my '81 chevy and I am going to drop with the 3/5 set-up. Includes a flip kit and lowering coils. Do I need new shocks? Notice the word NEED. I know that I probably SHOULD have them, but if I don't need them right away, I'd rather wait and buy them later. If my stock shocks will work then I'll just use those for now. Thanks....

If you want it to ride remotely decent you need them.  If you don't care about the possibility of busting the shock or the ride quality no.  I wouldn't have recommended a 3" coil drop for the front.  I don't think you will like th ride quality.  In the rear did the flip come with shock extenders?  I recommend those also, that way you can use the stock application shock.
