My son just dropped #5 and #6 pistons on his 86 C10 4X4 truck. The engine is supposed to be a 305. I have to get this thing running and what I am thinking of doing is to put a 307 that I can get for $100.00 for now until I can see how bad this engine really is.
Any suggestions?

Why can't you tear into the motor right away and see how bad it is?

After doing some research last evening that is what I am going to do. The 307 would not be a cost effective move.
Hopefully have it tore down and if I can remember I will post some pics of the damage.
Thanks.
