I have an '86 k10 but I really like the looks of like a '78 with the grille and fenders. So I was thinking  of just making the body like a '78, I know I probably could. But do you guys think I should?

Pretty simple to swap a complete 74-80 nose onto an 81 or newer cab. If you search the site you will find plenty of posts on it.

     I am also one who likes the 73 -80 nose better than the 81 - 87, so you have my vote also.
