Title: My 85 is going to get retired.
Post by: gto109 on April 21, 2012, 06:23:18 pm
Out of the blue I decided to trade in my Explorer for a dodge ram.  I thought all week about what I am going to do with my 85 Scottsdale.  Last night I decided that Its going to get finished.  My buddy Justin picked it up today and we took it to his house to fix the rockers, floor boards, and hang a drivers door.  The plans for it also changed with the new truck.  Ideas of lifting it are now going to happen.  I going to lift it as high as my friends suburban.  I believe that is sitting on 37s. I am still going to use the 3/4 ton axles I have for it as well.  Basicly my Chevy will no longer be the work truck

So you are not going to retire it as in not driving it anymore, you are going to finish the truck and use it for a fun truck to drive correct ?

After just reading what I said yesterday if it sounded mean I'm sorry it wasn't intended to.

It's nice to be able to have a backup vehicle or two and not have to rush any repairs or a restoration.  I remember reading through your post after clicking the link.

BTW... I missed a zinger with my first reply to your post, but I'll try it anyways...   Since your '85 is going to get retired, what kind of tires are you going to buy?....   :P

My favorite tires of course ;D.  BFG All terrion T/A.  I'm not sure if I'm going with a 6 or 8 inch lift from skyjacker.  If I go with the 6 I'll put 35s or 37s with the 8 in.
