That Detroit fills that engine bay, and with the 2 speed transmission I bet it has all the torque you could ever want.

A guy I know form another forum I visit is currently working on a 3-53 Detroit in his blazer.  He has it in place and running from what I can recall, and hooked up to a 700R4.

I've always enjoyed the sounds of the 2 strokes and I've wanted one in my old truck for a while.

If I want the money to do it, I don't have the time to do it.  If I wanted to make the time, I wouldn't have the money to do it.

A friend of mine has a 3-53 in a 67 C20 that is sitting rotting away.  I've tried to get it off of him for a while.

I saygo for it. My ultimate engine swap is a duramax and if I had the money to do it I would start now but as you seei'm on the computer. I love two strokes as well. On the submarines i've been on we have huge two strokes with dual 3800lb crankshafts and 8" dish pistons. Theres nothing in this world that can match that sound.

how hard is it to get custom motor mounts and can a 10 bolt front axle handle a 1000 pound engine?
