hey guys im putting in a new trans in my truck and i was wondering if anybody could tell me the length of the rear driveshaft for a th400/np208 combo in a 84 short wide bed. tomarrow is my only day off and i have to have the driveshaft to the shop in the morning or i will have to wait till monday to get it back, so i was hoping someone could help me out so i wouldnt have to wait until i got the new trans and tcase in ( its my only vehicle so i need it back on the road asap. im swapping from a th350/np203 combo to a th400/np208 and the currint driveshaft is a slipyoke and i got a new slip yoke for the np208.

That is a tricky one, unless someone has the exact set up as yours (including lift, axles, springs, etc, etc), the drive shaft may not be the same length. I do not know if any one is willing to give you the wrong measurement and then you will have it made to that spec and in might not work.

i dont need exact just a ball park. the guy who builds my driveshaft have 2 driveshafts out of these trucks but they are diffrent lenghts so he is trying to figure out which one is correct. one is for a np205 and the other is for a 208 setup we just dont know which one is which lol. so i was hoping to get a ballpark figure from someone so we could compare. thanks for the response.

the 205 should be the longer drive shaft if i can remember right i think the 205 is shorter than the 208 so the shaft will be longer if they are off the same transmission/rear
