If it's been a while since the brakes were bled, you might have to wire brush the threads and squirt some penetrating fluid on em. I like to use a flare nut wrench on the bleeders. It seems to grip better.

     This is a excellent suggestion, if you want to avoid a major headache later by rounding out the nut part on the bleeder.  Either a line wrench or a six point closed end wrench.

You can put a 6 point socket on these bleeders so there is no need for a wrench to break them loose

I'm thinking a 5/16 or 10mm.  Depends on who rebuilt the cylinder the last time.  Could be either or.  Most are, 3/8 front 5/16 rear.   could be metric if the company who supplied the cylinder/caliper last time decided to use that standard.  If you have a decent set of MM/SAE combo wrenches, you'll be ok.

but the offset wrenches are nice and not that expensive.

My fronts are 3/8ths and rears are 10mm.

Its the size wrench that fits the best!. If they are rusted or rounded off a selection of twist sockets will be your best bet.
