about finished with my center console and subwoofer box .gonna carpet the box and sides of console and leave the center of cosole uncarpeted so i can stain it .subwoofer box is about 1 cuft for 1-12" sub . i know it dont look as good as some of the consoles on here but im really proud on the way it s turning out

Nice console!
-
Are you going to fiberglass, carpet, or leave it wood ?
-
You should be proud! It will look nice in carpet and stain. What color carpet have you decided on? Are you stuffing the box with acoustic batting?
-
yes it gonna be carpeted. the sub box will be all black and the console sides will also be black with the center stained a dark pine .the bowtie with be carpeted black on the console also.as for the box i will just put a bag of polyfill in it from walmart . may add a pillow like arm rest to the top of the box for comfort

Lookin forward to seeing the final product.

something i seen on a another site i decided to try . i think it came out nice .overhead console out of 2002 tahoe($20)at junk yard .they also have these with the air controls on them if someone really wanted to give their chevy a nice custom tounch . my try it later on when i decide to put ac on my motor .
-
You should be proud of that console, that is some good work. I can tell you have put a lot of effort into that.
-
looking real good. Last time I built a console; I found little parts such as handles, cupholder etc at a local boating store.
-
thanks just trying something alittle different ,but im truely happy with the out come .i was kinda shakey about cut my new headliner and roof .it helps to have the right tools to do a job .a cut off wheel would have made it and easier install .i used a 3/8 drill bit and tin snips
-
i love the cosoles and i really like those valve covers.
-
Looks good, like the ceiling console as well. cant wait to see the finished product.
-
Nice job for sure. Your console has a lot of the same flavor as the one that I've been building for 5 years LOL Megashifter and all. I really like the overhead console too. I'm going to tuck that tidbit about the 2002 or so Tahoe overhead console away for a future project.

What is the process to get the overhead console to fit.

find center of cab and remove oe headliner .u will have to cut 2 square holes in roof for the tabs on console to slide into (2.5 x 2.5 ) ithink it been a while but once u set it up there u will see where u need to cut .be careful only cut the first layer of sheet metal .it may be a half inch or so betw.een the two sheets of the roof .the front of console attaches with a singe screw in the center (use a center punch ) again dont drill through outer sheet metal .as far as light hookup console has 3 wires u will only use 2 from each light ( brwn, blck, and wht)to hook to ur interior light , i dont remember which 2 i used but u can figure it out .u really dont have to remove ur oe headliner if u dont want to but i was told to ,but thats alot of extra work .mark the 2 square hole for the tabs witha marker and cut it witha razor then cut sheet metal .remember measure twice cut once .i used tin snips (the hard way) a die grinder with cut off wheel (very easy way )
