I have a 203 with the conversion kit in it, behind a th-350. I was wondering if i can buy a NP-205 and have my transmission shop swap them out?, or would there have to be a lot of mods made? Unfortunatley there is not a lot of 4x4 shops where i live who are 2 familiar with these transfer cases and such. I have manual locking hubs in the front. Or would i have to buy a new tranny and transfer case at the same time? Please help?? thanks Jay

This won't be a direct swap because the input shaft spline counts are different for the two t-cases. However, I think there are a few members that have done this same swap. They will likely chime in with the details.

If you find a 205 off a th350 with the shifter, adapter and coupler sleeve it will bolt right up . These were common on the 1980 chevy model year . You will have to adapt your drive shafts or get ones from a parts truck because the lengths are different . You may also need a different crossmember depending on which one you have. Do your homework because a lot of parts are incompatible .
