Can someone please tell me if there are any differances between the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton front crossmembers. I am putting half ton suspension on a 1 ton crew cab frame and have easy access to a 3/4 ton crossmember and not so easy access to a 1/2 one. Thanks in advance.

Don't you mean to ask if there is a difference between a 1/2 ton- 3/4 ton, compared to a 1 ton ? I believe the answer is yes, 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton should be interchangeable, if memory serves me right, the 1 ton should be different.

Yes that is correct. I will be using the 1 ton frame. I will use all the 1/2 suspension and would like to use the 3/4 ton crossmember as I can get that one off the 3/4 ton frame much easier than the one on the 1/2 ton parts truck. It has a motor in it and I really don't want to pull the motor out of it now.

Assuming 2wd: You will have to use all 1/2 ton from the arms out. 1/2 ton use rubber A arm bushings while the 3/4 and 1 ton use brass or bronze bushings(can't recall which). Also the ball joints are bigger for the 3/4 and 1 ton, along with different spindles, hubs, ect. Why do you want to put 1/2 ton on a 1 ton, seems like going backwards?

I have collected parts for so long now to build a crew cab shortbed 1/2 ton. I have everything(in stock form) to put it together. I got more parts trucks and frames than I know what to do with. Crew cab and doghouse from Nevada, Shortbed from Arizona. Local frames to make all this work together.

looking forward to getting a ride in it my friend

When you start putting it together include pics so we all can see. That is something I thought would be really cool to do, a crew short bed.

I plan on my own build thread as soon as I start. I got a full plate now with building a new pole barn for the project plus running my own business and being a local city councilman. Time is real tight as you can imagine.

The crossmembers themselves should be the same, you should be able to run the 1/2T arms out on the 3/4T setup. Should be able to do the same with the 1T also. Just don't remember right off the top of my head.
