Nice work, I had trouble finding the exhaust in the top picture! It blends in very well. You did a great job matching it to the bed. Are you concerned that over time the heat and fumes will discolor the paint in front of the wheel well?
-
that first pic is right after painting it so the tips had a little bit of overspray in them and no im not concerned at all because i can drive the truck for a solid hour strait and hop out and still be able to touch the exhaust tips and the carbon just washes off with a little bit of scrubbing
-
You could always put that protective coating around the exhaust exit's, sorry I can not recall it's name. I saw it on u-tube video, it is suppose to be clear and mildly heat resistant.
Other than that I love the set up, very clean and well constructed. Did you do the electric dumps just for the sound or do you race your truck also ?
-
the dumps are mostly for sound i also plan on taking it th the local strip this summer tho ;D

Looks clean and smooth ~ nice work. making them even is not easy.
I did exhaust work for 10 yrs and the problem we ran into anytime you solid mount the exhaust to the body or frame is the exhaust will move / vibrate / flex at a different rate then the body / frame as you drive. This usually leads to stress fractures / breakage... A flex pipe in the system my help to dampen the harmonic vibes. Also hard mounting the exhaust can give a coffee can rattle sound where the entire truck becomes a speaker exhibiting noise from the exhaust vibration.
If it runs cool enough 3" marine exhaust hose would give the flex and vibration dampening you need to keep the rattle and breakage to a minimum.
BTW ~ Clean truck!!! That thing is sharp!!!

IThanks and I do have 2 small flex pipes to try to keep down on vibrations.
-
Looks good and who cares if it doesn't aslong as it functions... I think that is a first for me on these trucks.
-
Looks awesome. Good job on the work.

Nice fab work

I wanted something no one else has and you would not believe the comments i get about the exhaust. I posted these pics cas there is a write up that side exit exhaust in front of the tire cant be done cause of the gas tanks this is to prove it can be done! :D
