Okay I have a major project that is just about done. The truck has a 6.2 diesel and 700R4 that were swapped (it is 4wd as well btw) before I bought it. The guy who did the swap never hooked up the lock up system :o >:( and I have no idea what components make that up.
Second, I HATE the way it shifts. It's really sloppy. I have heard positive things about shift kits. I have a trans filter/gasket kit that I was going to install soon so I want to address it then.
So basically I have 2 questions:
1) What do I do about the lockup system? Junk yard and try to piece it together? Or use a kit?
2) What shift kit is the best for a diesel? And how hard is it?
Thanks!

Before you do anything, check and make sure the TV cable is present, hooked up and adjusted. Use the search function, there are several posts that explain how to adjust them.

Its definitely present and hooked up. I just replaced it. Ill adjust it and see how it works out. Would the lockout not being hooked up mess up the trans? Its been driven probably 15000 miles like that.

Unfortunately, yes. It can. Here's some info for you about the cable.-

Thanks for the info.
I more so need to know about the lock up kit. I found one online a while back that hooks up after the fact, so I am going to try and install that.
I believe not having the trans go into overdrive would cause a loss of fuel economy, correct?
Does the lockup affect any gears other than overdrive?
