I am going to order new inner and outer fenders, are these going to be hard to swap out with the old ones? Is there anything i should know before i start unbolting the old ones? Any advice or tips? Thx Jay

Best advice I have to give is save up the extra $ and try to find OEM. Some of the aftermarket stuff really don't fit well. Even rust free used stuff would be my choice over new aftermarket. My $.02

This, and keep your shims in order, left/right. Good parts can be found on craigslist I'd you're not in a hurry.

Sorry to be jumping on your thread, but you might find this useful as well. I went to the junkyard and found a I believe 1976 GMC Grand Sierra hood and fenders. I came home, installed it on my 1974 Chevy C10. Everything fits well except where the top of the fender and the side of the hood meets. There is a minimal/moderate amount of gap. When it rains, it gets wet in the engine bay and also the gap is large enough that small leaves from the tree can get into it. How do I go about this?

I would collect extra shims and of different sizes, even OEM fenders might not fit exactly.

The 1973-80 aftermarket fenders from Goodmark fit great, I have put them on a couple of trucks, they are not cheap, but they fit well and they have zero rust. Any fender you buy will have to be fitted to the truck. Assuming you can buy one and bolt it up and be done is going in blind.
