Title: part number look up
Post by: bigten on June 30, 2012, 02:49:30 pm
Can anyone with an old GM parts catalog confirm that number 358069 is a radiator core support for a 1975 Chevy C10 pickup. Thanks for any help!

I found the number as a core support, on an Impala web site of obsolete parts. http://www.nationalimpala.com/docs/ObsoleteChevroletParts.pdf (http://www.nationalimpala.com/docs/ObsoleteChevroletParts.pdf)
Chris sells them on this site . Go to the store at the top of the page. Go to the Front Clips menu, and clik on the correct years (73-87).

In my 1978 parts illistration book the number for a CK- 1,2,3 Blazer, Jimmy Radiator support is 14003002. I could have changed numbers.

Thanks for all the information. I found out the part number did indeed change several times after 1973, (in 1975, 1977, and 1980). I have tracked down what I think is an NOS 73' Chevy C10 radiator core support. My C10 truck is a 75'. I can't get the seller to email me a picture. My question is: is the core support for the 73' C10 the same as the 75'. On my 75' there is a fitting on the core support on the battery side (driver's right hand) for the fresh air hose from the carb air horn to attach to. Did the 73' core support have this fitting for the fresh air hose, or was this something for the later models only, (75' onward). I'd like to keep this as the truck was suppose to have this. Not sure if the 73's even had this fresh air hose from the factory, (need someone with a stock older truck to comment) Also, are there any other changes in this part that would prevent me from using a 73' core support on my 75'? Also, how are the reproductions quality wise? Would I be better off going that route, and would a repro have the provision for the fresh air intake fitting for the carb on the core support. Thanks!

Don't get an aftermarket, the whole front end alignment depends on the radiator support. I don't know if it is exactly the same. The core support you would buy in 1975 would fit a 1973, they usually have dimples and prestamped holes to work in older years. You present a good question going the other way. There were alot of things on the 1973 that were one year only. I know the hood bumpers were directly threaded into the upper support and it was visibly diffrent. The A/C hoses also routed diffrently.

I have use cheapo (before I was selling parts) core support and didn't have any issues.  The 73 grille mounts differently than a 75, but essentially everything works.
