So i was thinking of purchasing a 89 - 91 suburban or blazer for the front clip, then relized why not use the front seats as well. my question is how hard will it be to get them to fit properly in the cab of my 85 silverado? my other question isdoes any one sell a chrome steering colum for the 81 to 87 C10s, or should i just paint mine to match the body?

The blazer has a flat floor pan, the trucks don't. If you hit the junkyard, find a suburban and get the brackets our of it, you can make it happen much easier. You'll ned the sliders off the suburban seats, and the floor brackets, bring a drill or a hammer and chisel as they are spot welded in.

Ididit sells a Chrome column. Probably could Chrome the factory one cheaper though....

The suburban front seats will fit in the truck with a slight modification in the rear mount. I removed the sliders and heated the rear part to bend it in shape to follow the pickup floor. It will become evident what needs to be done when you see the two side by side... I did this both with a bench and buckets. The buckets where a little more of a challenge to get them sitting even and not tilting in back to one side.
