Title: 84 GMC Shortwide
Post by: greatdane on July 22, 2012, 12:16:45 am: Had to sell my 82 chevy swb I was working on awhile back. But Im back with this little peach, an 84 GMC swb. Just picked it up today, older 400 sbc 350 trans with working AC. Needs paint and some new shoes but it runs ok. Drove it back today 75 miles at 70 mph with cool ac blowin the whole way home!!! 8)

I like the way it looks now if the paint was better. May pick up some rallys or different wheels later. Working on the a/c ducts and front brakes now. Just glad to have another older truck again.

Post by: greatdane on August 01, 2012, 10:20:30 am: Got the fluids changed & her all tuned up, a new cd player and 6x9's installed and the a/c charged up. She is blowing nice and cold in the 111 degree OK heat. It's the truck I always wanted when I was 18 Lol...

Those are MB Wheels - Old Schools, right? I just put those on my truck!!! I used the same tires Stacey David used in project Knuckle Buster; 255/50R-18s in front and 285/50R-20s in rear. I love the look!!!

Yes they are....I love them. Mine are 17x8 with 275/55/17 all the way around

Yeah but the clear is all coming off. Thinking about painting it a solid color, like a dark grey. I ordered some 2" drop coils for the front end, I want it to have the rake look. Hope my tires will clear the fenders, dont wanna buy new ones!

Added new some fender trim, working on cleaning up the engine compartment. Put a new carb on last week and new plugs and wires...

I have decided not paint it now, just going to leave it stock with the drop and wheels and work on the engine and interior. Hard for me to drop the cash to have it painted right now so I'm going to roll it the way it looks give it a little tlc as I can afford it.....

New Carb, New plugs n wires, New air cleaner.... going to change the valve covers around next, dont know why they put them on the way they did?
