Can I put an HEI distributor cap and coil on an ESC distributor and have it work the same? Its on an 89 gmc suburban 2500 with a 350. I dont know how the ESC hooks yo the distributor so thats why I am asking if it is possible.

Yes this is exactly what I did with my recent build, because I didn't see. The need to buy a new dizzy. There are two wires you splice and join. Then you unplug the esc controller. And you now set the timing
