Hi guys. I picked up a tilt steering column for my (early) 81 truck. The column is a later column. I didn't realize my mistake until I noticed the high beam switch is on the floor of my truck and the wiper switch is on the dash. I don't mind having a non-functioning switch (high beams, wipers) on the column as long as the turn signals, neutral safety switches etc. work. I tried to compare the connectors but I can't see much under the dash because of a AC duct.
Anyone know if this column will work, or should I start looking for a 77-80 one??????

It will work fine, been there done that. It is easy enough to convert everything else if you desire.

Sweet! Thanks, Will it be a direct plug-in or will i need to splice in wires to make the turn signals etc. work properly?

The plug you need for the turn signal loom is the same. It has been a while since I did the conversion but I know I put the column in as is and about 6 months later I hooked up the dimmer and wiper switch after the fact. I put a 1984 column in a 1982 BTW.

I forgot to say there is a difference between the tilt and a non tilt... Not anything big but the loom plug from the truck will plug on upside down if that makes sense...

Cool, Thanks a lot.
