if you still have the transfer case, you could slap the 4wd transmission and transfer case into your 2wd truck pretty easily. You'd just need the driveshaft from the 4wd truck. Only thing I see a problem with is cutting your floorboard out for the transfer case shifter. Would be pretty cool, you'd have a double underdrive granny gear! haha! Probably wouldn't hurt to grab the crossmember from the 4wd truck, just to be safe, but I think they utilize the same one.
If you don't have the transfer case, then I'm not sure it'd work, unless you have a slip joint in the driveshaft itself, since the 4wd sm465 is a fixed rear yoke.

It's a tough swap, a 2wd 4spd has a short 35 spline tailshaft where your 4wd will be either short 10 or long 32 spline. You'd have to find a 2wd tailhousing and figure out the tailshaft issue.
Imo, it'd be easier to fix yours or find a used one.

Around my parts, the 2WD SM465 is fairly plentiful. I'd think if you just want a good transmission that swapping in another 2WD SM465 would be quicker, easier and possibly cheaper than converting the 4WD SM465 to a 2WD version or installing the SM465/NP205 into your truck.
