Title: Tailgate insert

When I bought my truck, the guy had some spare parts in the bed. One was a tailgate insert trim piece thing. I tried to install it today, and it didn't really fit. Is there a way to tell if I have the wrong year, or an aftermarket tailgate, or I don't know. All I have at my disposal right now is a picture of my tailgate.

The problem I had, was that the insert trim piece thing wouldn't really fit into the handle area without a lot of bending and cutting of the insert...

Its the wrong year tail gate Bezel. I had to search the yards and found one for 30 bucks

Only this type will fit that tailgate.
