Title: Steering column interchange.
Post by: 1979C20 on September 25, 2012, 08:56:43 pm
I really need to know, before tomorrow, if the steering column from a 94 will work in my 89. From pictures, the wiper stalk looks slightly different and the tilt handle is a little different. But will the shifter linkage, etc work? Its a 94 burb pre vortec, no airbags.

The shifter linkage will NOT work on our style trucks.  It is completely different...

technically, all I need is the upper column tube to work. I can reuse the guts out of my column, the only problem is the retainer shown in this picture. Would I be able to do that?

Would I be able to reuse everything from my column except for the upper section of the column jacket (#33) which is broken and salvage that part from the new column?
