hello all,
thought i would try out my posts and intro myself a little for now. seen this forum and decided to become a little active on here. im on some other forums as well like tbssowners.com,evolutionm.net , calguns.com, xdtalk.com, snipershide.com etc etc...i just recently picked up a 77 cheby k10 shortbox. however, i also have owned for several years a 74 gmc 3/4 ton camper special with a 454, th400, 4.10 gears, etc....her name is Emma. her body is old and rotted, but her drivetrain is in great condition. she is getting her insides transplanted into the 77 aka 'Tinman' to have her legend live on....it is a Federal Smog vehicle so i am able to swap the small block for the big block...no cat, smog pump, air injection, egr valve, etc...so im good to go. already spoke with a smog tech and looked it up in the book....6200lbs GVRW ...Federal and NOT CA smog...woot!! i purchased the truck from a fella up near Morgan Hill, CA and drove it home to the Central Coast CA...front end needed rebuilding in a hurry, so ALL, well most all, the steering components have been replaced......drag links, steering arm, tie rod ends, and powersteering lines. trans severely need new mounts.....done... next is going to be the lower ball joints...and to get to those, the front hubs and stuff need to come off...you guys know that....so im going to address that....lemme see if i can post a pic ..../.

i also dropped the oil pan, installed a HP Melling oil pump for good measure, new rear main seal(thought it was leaking and it wasnt), bearings were clean on rear main cap so thats good, one piece oil pan gasket, new Summit Racing balancer, and i think that has been it so far....

okay, so i almost have the whole front end rebuilt....brakes, tie rod ends, steering arms, adjusting sleeves, inner/outer bearings and races, seals, etc....new locking hubs are in order also as the driver side was sheared off....they were WARN premium hubs so im gonna try the Mile Marker Premium hubs....
also, i may have a 2-203 transfer cases up for sale...along with a th350 trans w/shift kit installed...
also, i may end up pulling the 454 out of my 74 GMC and install it in the 77. also going to install a TH400 with a 205....
