on the way to school this morning i noticed my voltmeter wasn't working. it was about 25 degrees when i left to go to school and this isnt the first time its happened, im just wondering if the cold has something to do with it? after school when its warmer it works fine, my truck still runs and doesnt have any loss of power, not yet anyway, any help would be appreciated 8)

If you have a VOM, check to see you are charging when that problem occurs. Could be a sluggish gauge. I have several used ones on the classified section that would work for you.

thanks for the offer but i think i might have fixed it? i reached up under the dash after i got home from school and messed around with the circuit on the back of the cluster and it turned on, im thinking it might be a bad circuit?

The copper foil on the PC boards has a tendency to tarnish and connections degrade, both at the harness plug connection to the cluster and at the silver gauge clips.
